HOY was a FANTASTIC show with real International flair and so exciting to see the crowds being pulled in to watch the dressage and thoroughly enjoying it.
Although the atmosphere was electric it was great to ride in. The arena set up was wonderful with plenty of room between the horses, trade stores and crowds. The show jumping arena didn’t seem to pose much of problem this year with the majority of horses coping really well.
It had a real European feel to it.
I was again thrilled with the North Park Team they behaved impeccably and coped with such a great atmosphere. On the Saturday Limonit rode his freestyle to a huge crowd in the Grand Stand who were watching one of the big show jumping rounds with alot of cheering and clapping going on. Limonit fed off the atomosphere and loved it. He was such a good boy and again with such little experience at this level and very few outings to his name did himself proud. Limonit came 3rd in his PSG, 6th Int I, 4th in his Kur and 6th Overall.
Northern Fortuous was full of himself but coped with the atmosphere well, he just got excited when he did his changes turning himself into an exuberant little power pack and making it difficult for me to ride him at times - more experience at this level will help to settle him down but I was still really happy with some of his work.
Forty came 3rd in his 5.6, and 6th overall.
Doringcourt was a star! He felt fantastic and really enjoyed the surface.
Doringcourt rode in a strong class of lovely horses and riders so it was extra special to take out the HOY Level 4 Championship winning all of his tests with 70 + percent.
Thank you Wayne Williams for helping me in my warm ups it was great having you there to help me!
Thank you also to Jenny who is over from Germany helping me with my horses, you did a fantastic job and your help was invaluable, especially coping with wearing the Stallion Sash and having people ask you what it was for - Miss Germany came to mind!!
