Andrea & Northern Fortuous Waitemata Dressage Championship was an exciting weekend on my three competition horses.  This was Doringcourt, Northern Fortuous and Limonit’s first competition of the season and Doringcourt’s first outing in New Zealand. For Limonit, this was his first show in two years - I was thrilled with the horses.  The team ended up placing Novice Champion & Show Champion on Doringcourt with all percentages over 70%, Medium Champion on Northern Fortuous and Open Medium Champion on Limonit.

Limonit also took out Hanoverian Champion.

The most exciting part of the weekend for me was to have Leonie at the competition. After enjoying an intensive and hugely enjoyable few days of training with Leonie and then to be warmed in by her was a real special moment for me and some of Leonie’s other New Zealand students  - thank you Leonie.

Leonie’s students took out 5 out of 7 Championships.  John Twoomey took out Preliminary Champion on Don Diego (owned by Tracey Boss) and Reserve Champion went to Debbie Williams on PR Ragazzo. Debbie also won Casey Motors Cup for Highest DW member points. Casey Johnson riding for Mathew Hanoverians also took out some strong placings on her team of four horses.

woodsbee1.jpg Kylie Baker on her beautiful German Import Woodsbee  bred by Leonie Bramall and partner Volker Dusche also did exceptionally well at the Waitemata Dressage Champs being placed 1st and two 2nd’s in the Novice Class with over 70%.  Kylie unfortunately didn’t do a freestyle otherwise she would have taken out Reserve Champion but still placed 3rd overall in the Novice Championship.  This was also Woodbee’s first competition since arriving in New Zealand - a wonderful combination to watch out for in the future.
